Prerequisites
· Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for installing CA Internet Security Suite 2010.
· Uninstall security software like Firewall, AntiSpyware, or AntiVirus from other vendors currently installed on your computer.
· Ensure your computer is restarted after uninstalling such software.
· Save all data and close any programs that are currently running on your computer.
· Log off all logged in users.
· Log into your computer as Administrator or as a user with administrative privileges.
To install
· Download CA Internet Security Suite 2010.
· Double click the downloaded setup file.
For CD Installation
· Browse to the drive containing the CD.
· Double-click the setup.exe file.
For USB Flash drive installation
· Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop.
· Right-click the your USB Flash drive, and select Explore.
· Double-click the CAISS folder, and then double-click on CAInstallationMenu.html .
· Select the link to install from the Installation Menu.
Installation screen guidance
The self-extracting files will automatically bring up the Welcome Screen. Toward the bottom, Standard Installation will be selected by default.
If you would like to install all product components, click the Get Started button.
If you would like to install only specific product components, select Allow me to Change Advanced Options and click the Get Started button.
On the next screen, you can then select the components you would like to install and click the Next button.
Helpful Notes.
* Check the box for Keep My Computer Safe, to install AntiMalware.
* Check the box for Keep My Internet Safe, to install the Firewall, AntiSpam, and AntiPhishing features.
* Check the box for Keep My Files Safe, to install the file backup and file migration feature.
* Check the box for Keep My Kids Safe, to install Parental Controls.
The installation process will contact the CA server to activate your product.
Read through CA's and Lesser General Public License's terms and agreements. Put a check for I accept the terms of CA and LGPL's license agreements (only if you accept them).
Click the Install button to start installation.
After installing security components, the installation process does a quick scan to check for malware.
Once installation is complete, Quick Scan results will appear showing threats found on your computer.
Click the Reboot Now button to immediately restart your computer (recommended).
After your computer gets back on the Desktop, the CA Alert Manager prompts you to configure your active network as Home or Public.
Click the Home button if you connect to an intranet, OR click the Public button if you have a direct connection to the internet.
The installation process is complete. The CA Security Suite is fully functional now.
