Problem Summary
I tried to uninstall CA Internet Security Suite 2010 from the Control Panel. The uninstall failed with error messages.
Problem Resolution

Note. If you are not using Internet Explorer as your default browser, then copy and paste links on this page, in an Internet Explorer window.

Precaution. Do not click the links for versions 2007, 2008 and 2009  on a Windows Vista 64bit computer. This could lead to a system crash.

 

1.    If uninstalling the CA product from Control Panel did not remove the CA software, please click the link for the product you are trying to uninstall.

CA Internet Security Suite 2008

CA Internet Security Suite 2009

CA Internet Security Suite 2010

The Internet Explorer window will show a yellow bar across the top.

2.    Right click the yellow bar and select Download File…

The File Download box opens.

3.    Click the Run button.

The Uninstaller begins and moves through a bunch of screens.

Note. If you have installed CA Parental  Controls or configured My Kids, the uninstaller will prompt for the parental controls administrator password. In such a case, enter the password and click on OK. The uninstaller will continue.

After all files are removed, the uninstaller will prompt you to reboot your computer.

4.    Restart your computer for changes to take effect.

CA Internet Security Suite is now completely removed
